The Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks are on the verge of making the firs tbig trade of the offseason as the two teams would be trading big names and interesting assets with less than a day to go until the draft.

More from Dallas Mavericks

According to ESPN.com’s Marc Stein and others, the Mavericks are prepared to send Jose Calderon, Samuel Salembert, Shane Larkin and a pair of draft picks in the draft to the New York Knicks in exchange for Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton.

We knew about the players involved in the trade but Adrian Wojnarowski informs us that the 34th and 51st overall picks being included for the Knicks is brand new to the conversation we’ve been hearing.

That’s huge for the Knicks as they’ve been desperately looking for a way to get a draft pick this year and this trade would see them come away with two of them. Neither are the first roudners the Knicks coveted but they only wanted that to draft a young guard and that’s what Shane Larkin is.

Plus, the 34th overall pick is basically a first round pick in this year’s draft thanks to the depth which means the Knicks are making out like bandits in this deal.
