NBA Rumors: Warriors could trade for Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Lin?

The Golden State Warriors, despite a very solid season, don’t appear overly enthusiastic about their roster as they’ve been rumored to be involved in a handful of trade scenarios in recent weeks. From Tyson Chandler to Kevin Love, the rumor mill keeps churning and this time it seems to have landed with the Houston Rockets.

Attempting to clear salary cap space for the potential signing of Carmelo Anthony and/or LeBron James, the Houston Rockets are said to be looking to trade Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin and the Golden State Warriors may be of interest, at least for Lin.

A Bay Area native, Lin would give the Warriors a solid point guard off the bench but Golden State has little reason to help the Rockets obtain an All-Star for free, which is why Chris Broussard of ESPN suggests a potential deal involving both Lin and Chandler Parsons.

The Rockets are confident they can trade Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin to clear the cap room necessary to offer near-max dollars. While they’d like to keep Chandler Parsons, he might have to be sacrificed to move Asik and/or Lin. I’m told Golden State might be interested in trading for Lin if it can land Parsons along with him.

Parsons would certainly give the Golden State Warriors an additional sharp shooter which could potentially let them part with Klay Thompson, though, that seems to be a little too progressive thinking at this point.

Given it’s a Broussard report, it obviously needs to be taken with a grain of salt but such an acquisition would certainly send shockwaves through the NBA community given the potential ramifications.
