Social media can be very rough for professional athletes. It is one of the only avenues that fans get to use to reach out to their favorite players, but there are some over emotional fans that take things too far and make their comments personal.

More from Dallas Cowboys

In an effort to poke fun at the social media “haters,” we have seen a number of videos with celebrities reading mean tweets.

The Dallas Cowboys have copied that idea and now have released a video of their own.

Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Brandon Flowers and other Cowboys stars read through tweets on an iPad that were directed at the team.

The result was pure hilarity.

Sure, there was plenty of acting and embellishing of reactions, but there was no moment more honest than when Jason Witten read his angry tweet from a fan.

“Jason Witten — slow as hell, LOL. But it works,” Witten read. The Pro Bowl tight end then took a moment, nodded his head and smiled, before responding, “True.”

There were a number of other tweets that got some genuine laughter out of the players, and a perfect message sent to Brandon Weeden that we believe anyone would agree with.

“Why the f— would Jerry Jones waste money on Brandon Weeden? Jerry Jones has lost his f—ing mind,” Weeden read.
