Are you ready for the latest Joe Thornton rumor to start your Saturday? Well, you’re in luck.

More from Dallas Stars

As it turns out, despite the San Jose Sharks interest in re-signing the center, Thornton will have plenty of other suitors and one of the interested teams resides in the Western Conference.

That team just so happens to be the Dallas Stars.

While the Stars do have some interest in acquiring Thornton, it seems unlikely and the belief from many is that Thornton will return to San Jose.

From CSN Bay Area

"Add the Dallas Stars to the list of teams that would be interested in Sharks captain Joe Thornton, should be become available.According to an NHL source, Dallas has approached San Jose about acquiring the 34-year-old center. The Stars could use help at the position behind budding superstar Tyler Seguin, while (GM Doug Wilson) has clearly indicated he will be turning his team over to the younger core players on the ice and in the dressing room. The interest from Dallas is meaningless, of course, if Thornton does not want to waive his no-trade clause. His agent and brother, John Thornton, indicated again on Friday that his client would like to remain in San Jose."

The trade talk for Thornton won’t die down until he is officially back with the Sharks, but San Jose fans can rest easy knowing that is where he wants to stay and the Sharks seem willing to find a way to bring him back.

We will just have to wait and see if both sides get their wish.
