NBA Rumors: Carmelo Anthony recruited to Chicago Bulls by Scottie Pippen?
By Bryan Rose
Earlier this month, Carmelo Anthony and his wife LaLa decided they’d take a vacation to Europe. Planned or not, they also happened to meet up with Scottie Pippen and his wife. No big deal, right? Well, maybe and maybe not.

As we all know, the Chicago Bulls are one of the favorites to sign Carmelo Anthony in free agency and Pippen, despite rumors (which look dead) suggesting he may join the New York Knicks front office is the ‘Special Advisor’ to Chicago Bulls COO and President Michael Reinsdorf, a role he has held for nearly two years.
Now, LaLa and Pippen’s wife Larsa are said to be very close, you know, LaLa, the same woman who said she’d have a say in where Carmelo Anthony signs his next contract?
The likelihood here is that Pippen and his wife were simply enjoying some down time with Anthony and his wife, though, you have to think at some point talk of free agency did eventually come up. What makes it even more ironic was that Pippen was being courted by Phil Jackson and the Knicks as previously mentioned, Anthony’s former team. Might that have been part of the reason Jackson and the Knicks wanted Pippen, given his relationship with Melo?
Pippen wasn’t the only member of the NBA to apparently meet up with Carmelo Anthony when he was in Europe either as Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant reportedly met up with Melo, though he denied any free agent talks took place (though did mention he would eventually speak to him).
