By Jack Crosby
With midnight on July 1 now behind us, Carmelo Anthony is officially on the free agent market, and there are a lot of teams in the NBA hot on his trail as they try to pry him away from the New York Knicks. One of those teams happens to be the Los Angeles Lakers, who registered interest as soon as FA opened up, and will meet with Anthony on Thursday.
Carmelo to the Lakers has been talked about for quite some time now, and when they’re involved, you can never count them out in the chase.

Kobe Bryant has made it no secret that he would enjoy all the help that he can get out in Los Angeles, and that could include not only bringing in Anthony, but LeBron James as well, creating one of the most dominating forces in the entire NBA.
Right now, the front runners for the services of Anthony are considered to be the Chicago Bulls and Houston Rockets, although Bryant will do all he can to persuade Melo that they can win some rings together for the next few seasons, something Anthony has not enjoyed yet during his time in the NBA.
