The Miami Heat have watched all three members of their magnificent trio opt out and hit the open market which means they have the money freed up to improve the roster and convince LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade to re-sign this summer.

More from Miami Heat

One of the players on the open market is Luol Deng and he’s already been garnering interest from teams like the Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks but there’s one team who has stormed onto the scene to become real players to sign Deng.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Miami Heat have reached out to Luol Deng and are registering significant interest in him on the open market.

The Heat have the money to make a run at Deng and he may be open to taking less than market value to try and win a title. It would be a betrayal to his Chicago Bulls roots, but Deng is at the point in his career where he’s chasing a title and he wants to win now.

He also wants to get paid which means that he may not take less money in Miami to help contend when he can get market value elsewhere and do the same thing. But the Heat courting Deng is significant and it shouldn’t be taken lightly.
