Cleveland Cavaliers’ free agent big man Spencer Hawes is coming off an excellent season.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Hawes was dealt from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Cavaliers in exchange for big man Henry Sims, forward Earl Clark and picks at the trade deadline to replace Andrew Bynum after the Cavaliers gave up on him and dealt him to the Chicago Bulls for forward Luol Deng.

Now that Hawes is officially an unrestricted free agent, he is set to cash in.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sport, the Portland Trail Blazers are pursuing Spencer Hawes and Blazers’ general manager Neil Oshey has already met with Hawes’ agent, Greg Lawrence, but the Cavaliers are “determined to keep him.”

Hawes is likely viewed as the number two center available, behind Marcin Gortat of the Washington Wizards.

Hawes put up 13.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 45.6% from the field, 41.6% from three and 78.3% from the free throw line. The Cavaliers want to re-sign Hawes  and both the Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks are reportedly interested in him. The Los Angeles Clippers are also expected to be a player for the big man.
