Trail Blazers Rumors: Josh McRoberts, Portland have mutual interest
By Josh Hill
The NBA is in a free agent feeding frenzy at the moment and we’re starting to hear names rumored left and right all across the league. Unlike the NHL, which is seeing players snatched up with giant contracts on the first day of eligibility, things are going slower with the NBA and that means we’re going to be able to savor the rumors while they last.

One of the hot rumors at the moment surrounds former Charlotte Hornets, nee Bobcats, forward Josh McRoberts and the Portland Trail Blazers.
According to Chris Haynes from CSNNW.com, the Blazers and McRoberts have mutual interest thanks to the Forward’s toughness that Portland likes and the fact that McRoberts is fond of the city the team plays in.
"In an effort to shore up their depth in the frontcourt, the Portland Trail Blazers contacted the representatives of free agent forward Josh McRoberts and established that both side have interest, league sources informed CSNNW.com.McRoberts, 27, is attractive to Portland due to his toughness, playmaking ability and shooting range. He’s seen as a no-brainer fit for this team and we’re told, “he’s fond of Portland.”"
McRoberts going to the Blazers isn’t a done deal but it’s one that makes a lot of sense for both parties. Portland needs a few more pieces to keep contending in the West and McRoberts seems like he has the skills to help out.
There hasn’t been much other interest in McRoberts so far in free agency which means the Blazers might be able to swoop in and get an early steal on the market.
