As fast as the NBA Free Agency period started this week, it’s amazing to imagine that the recruitment of one of the biggest names on the market, Carmelo Anthony, is coming to an end. On Thursday, Melo talked with two teams that ended up verbally offering him a max deal, the Los Angeles Lakers, and his most recent team, the New York Knicks.

The Knicks met with Carmelo out in Los Angeles on Thursday after he was done with the Lakers’ pitch, and that is where they slapped the max offer on the table, getting the final word in.
However, for as quick as they threw the offer out, they didn’t get as quick of an answer back as Carmelo will reportedly take this holiday weekend to mull everything that happened this past week over.
Coming into this free agency period, some considered it all but a lock that Anthony would be leaving the Big Apple. But as time has gone on, there has been some growing concern among the teams that he has met with that he can’t be pried away from the clutches of new Knicks president, Phil Jackson.
