The future of Pau Gasol seems to be up in the air but the landing places for him are starting to identify themselves and so far they all look like great fits.
A return to the Los Angeles Lakers isn’t out of the question but Gasol is starting to get shown appreciation by teams he’s never played for, which is something the Lakers cannot say about their own treatment of Gasol over the years.
According to Yahoo! Sports insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder remain the best options for Pau Gasol on the free agent market.
For now, Chicago and Oklahoma City are the most intriguing destinations to Gasol, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The Miami Heat are also in there as well with interest as Pat Riley is set to fly to Los Angeles this weekend to shmooze Gasol in an effort to get him to sign in South Beach.
Nothing will happen until Carmelo Anthony makes a decision on where he wants to play as free agency won’t officially start until then. But both Chicago and Oklahoma City look to be positioning themselves to catch Gasol when the floodgates open next week and it’s anyone’s game at this point in the summer.
