Trail Blazers Rumors: Portland talking contract with Steve Blake
By Josh Hill
The Portland Trail Blazers finally seemed to get over the hump this past season as they made the postseason and made it out of the first round before running into a buzz-saw in the San Antonio Spurs. Portland was dispensed of with realtive ease by the eventual NBA Champions and as a result the team is looking at ways they can get over the new hump that stands before them.

No one has been signed by the Blazers as of yet and there doesn’t seem to be much interest from the team in the top tier free agents, but there are still interesting and productive names that the team could pursue.
According to Chris Haynes of CSNNW.com, the Blazers have had talks with Steve Blake but serious negotiations are not expected to take place until further down the road this summer.
"On Day 1 of free agency the Portland Trail Blazers inquired about the interest of veteran free agent point guard Steve Blake, league sources informed CSNNW.com.These sources that requested anonymity describes the call to his representatives as merely a “feeler ” inquiry with sides expected to reengage down the road."
Blake seems like a brilliant fit for the Blazers as he not only adds a veteran presence but brings his three-point sharp shooting as well, something that Portland can’t seem to get enough of. He would also be in a position to pass on knowledge to and mentor Blazers star Damian Lillard
