Brandon McCarthy’s wife happy that Yankee trade will force him to shave

Brandon McCarthy’s wife Amanda has many reasons to be happy that her husband was traded from the Diamondbacks to the Yankees. First off, she doesn’t have to live in Arizona anymore. Second, her hubby now has a legit shot to be in the postseason this year.

Thirdly, and apparently most importantly from Amanda’s perspective, now Brandon will be forced to shave off his facial hair.

Obviously Amanda is not a fan of Brandon’s facial hair. So the Yankees’ long-standing no-facial-hair policy is a God-send to her. No more tickling and scratching for Amanda. Soon her husband’s face will be as smooth as a baby’s butt.
It’s not like Brandon McCarthy even has that thick of a beard. His is actually pretty modest compared to some of the MLB beards out there. Brian Wilson basically would have no shot with Amanda McCarthy. He shouldn’t even bother going down that road.
By and large, I find the Yankees anti-beard policy to be old-fashioned and somewhat Fascist, but obviously there are those who are totally in favor of the rule. Amanda McCarthy is one of them. I guess she isn’t a big believer in a man’s freedom to grow out his beard however much he wants.
