The Carmelo Anthony decision was supposed to come down last week but instead we’ve seen the decision dragged out until Tuesday at the earliest now.

More from NBA

While it looked like the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers were in the lead to land Melo, the decision has been a lot harder than previously indicated as Melo is reportedly torn over whether he should sign with the Knicks, Bulls, Rockets, Mavericks or Lakers.

According to Frank Isola from the New York Daily News, Melo is agonizing over where to sign as the decision is not as easy as it has been reported as being over the weekend. In fact, Isola says that every, even the Mavericks are still in the running when it comes where he could sign next year.

"Carmelo Anthony is agonizing over where to spend the prime years of his career and the longer Anthony takes to weigh his options, the more troubling news it is for the Knicks since Phil Jackson outbid the competition by $30 million.According to a friend close to the Knicks’ All-Star forward, Anthony is still debating his next move, with the Knicks, Lakers and Bulls all regarded as the most likely landing spots. Anthony has not ruled out the Rockets and Mavericks but those clubs are not considered realistic possibilities for Anthony"

This is encouraging news for the teams who thought they were out of the running and it seems to be in line with a report that the Knicks are starting to feel uneasy about their chances of landing Melo this week after feeling so confident over the weekend.

Either way, the decision from Melo on where to pay the next for or five years of his life is not an easy one and he’s clearly taking is time to make the right move before continuing is career where ever he feels is the best for for him.
