San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is fresh off signing a $126 million dollar contract, but as we all know, money can’t buy happiness. That’s something that the signal caller is apparently well aware of as he reflected in his new tattoo.

Showing off his new ink on Instagram, Colin Kaepernick posted a photo of his new tattoo which features a hand reaching upwards towards a pile of money. In the hand is an apple which it reaches through a snakes body in attempt to grab the dough. It seems as if Kaepernick was going for somewhat of a biblical reference.

Included with the picture was the following caption:

"“Money is the root of all evil! Amazing work by @carlostorresart #WhatWouldYouDoForSomePaper #WhatAreYouReallyAbout.”"

It’s a little oddly timed considering the mega deal Colin Kaepernick signed a few months ago, though possibly the ink is his effort to keep himself grounded. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has continually suggested that he never wants to get too big for his own head and maybe the tattoo is a depiction of what he doesn’t want to have to do to get that money.

Regardless of reason, it’s certainly an interesting and rather beautiful piece which what appears to be a significant meaning behind it.

It’s just one of many tattoo’s on the body of Colin Kaepernick who has become somewhat famous for them. In fact, a recent photo of the upcoming Madden 15 video game depicted an image of Kaepernick and his tattoos, an oddity as the game has not included the body artwork before.
