In the never-ending journey to return to his MVP form, Derrick Rose will take his rehab to Las Vegas as he’s expected to work out with the Chicago Bulls Summer League team reports K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

Since tearing his ACL during the 2012 NBA Playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers, Rose’s career has taken a turn for the worst. The following season, Rose would miss all 82 games plus the playoffs while poor public relations from the Chicago Bulls placed him under a bad spotlight to the public.

In 2013, officially cleared to play, the return was set in motion. Rose looked like his old self in the preseason, attacking the basket with little regard for the defense while displaying his new and improved jump shot. Unfortunately that great play failed to translate once the regular season started as Rose came out the gate struggling. And when the play began come together, Rose tore his meniscus, ending his season.

Now, like before, Rose is all about prepping for the upcoming season. By practicing with the Summer League team, Rose will be able to get reps about NBA-esque competitors.

With the Chicago Bulls future leaning on Rose’s health, it’s imperative he’s ready to go come November. This team is a fringe contender when he’s playing like one of the best point guards in the NBA. If he can find his confidence early in the summer, the Bulls will be in a nice position.
