The chase for LeBron James is rolling on and the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be emerging as a front-runner to land the best player in the NBA. With the Cavaliers looking to make James feel welcomed back home, they are hoping to surround him with some of his favorite players to be around.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

We have heard the Cavaliers interest in signing Ray Allen, but now there are reports that the team is showing interest in fellow free agent James Jones.

Jones is a favorite of LeBron James and the Cavaliers would add him as a player that would stretch the floor just like his role with LeBron when the two were teammates with the Miami Heat.

From David Aldridge of NBA.com:

While James Jones would not guarantee LeBron signs with Cleveland, it would be a big step forward.

The only question will be how the Cavaliers would be able to fit LeBron, James Jones or Ray Allen and potentially a player like Kevin Love under the current salary cap with what they are already financially committed to.
