After visiting with the Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks (in that order), New York Knicks’ free agent forward Carmelo Anthony flew to Los Angeles to visit with the Lakers.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

While meeting with the Lakers, Anthony was very impressed and the Lakers did everything in their power to try to recruit Anthony’s wife, La La. Whether or not they were able to do that is still in question, but former Laker great James Worth believes Anthony is still considering the Lakers.

Marc Berman of The New York Post has the scoop.

"“I told Carmelo, I said, ‘I wish your wife were here because she’s more popular than you in Los Angeles.’ We’re trying to recruit her, because if you can get La La, Carmelo has no say-so. So, we’re trying to get her to Hollywood.“Hollywood is right here. She can do whatever she wants.”Thursday is the couple’s wedding anniversary, and Vazquez tweeted to her husband: “You’re stuck with me like glue.’’Worthy still believes Anthony is considering LA.“Carmelo has an open mind,’’ Worthy told Slam. “He knows this is a critical decision at this point in his career. He’s 30 years old, so he can’t be shopping around if he wants to win. I think it’ll be New York or LA, and I think LA still has a shot. He lives there in the offseason anyway.”"

The Chicago Bulls have also recently back into the picture, mostly because of the efforts of Bulls’ head coach Tom Thibodeau.

Anthony put up 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game and shot 45.2% from the field, 40.2% from beyond the arc and 84.8% from the free throw line last season.
