Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett eager to learn from LeBron James

LeBron James announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sports Illustrated. In his narrated announcement, James talked about working with the Cleveland Cavaliers young roster, naming some players specifically.
“I see myself as a mentor now and I’m excited to lead some of these talented young guys,” James said. “I think I can help Kyrie Irving become one of the best point guards in our league. I think I can help elevate Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters. And I can’t wait to reunite with Anderson Varejao, one of my favorite teammates.”
The exclusion of 2014 No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft Andrew Wiggins led to speculation that he could be shipped off in a deal for Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Kevin Love. The Cavaliers in the meantime have expressed no desire to trade Wiggins.
In the meantime, Wiggins is thrilled James is returning to Cleveland to be his teammate.
“LeBron is the best player in the game,” Wiggins said, via Fox Sports. “It’s been an exciting day. Hearing the good news, that was a great feeling.”
Wiggins added: “It will be a great learning experience, kind of being under his wing. I was just happy to hear the best player is coming to (my) team. It will be great for me.
“We’ll bring it every day, just like he will. Hopefully he’ll take us under his wing and teach us what it takes to get to his level, build a championship team.”
His teammate and 2013 No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett is also eager to learn from James. Bennett has been linked into trade rumors and a player the Cavs hope can improve under James’ tutelage after a disappointing rookie season.
“Everybody was excited,” Bennett said. “I can’t wait for him to come back. I can learn a lot from him on and off the court.”
