Jermaine Jones with the ceremonial first kick at Dodgers game (Video)
By Dan Zinski
Jermaine Jones didn’t have to worry about embarrassing himself with a terrible ceremonial first pitch at Friday night’s Dodgers game, because instead of throwing out a first pitch, he switched it up and kicked out a first kick.

The USMNT star came out with a baseball like he was going to throw a pitch, but then…the big twist. Brian Wilson comes out with a soccer ball. Look out A.J. Ellis, here comes a kick from Jermaine Jones!
I like how Ellis puts down the mitt and lines up like a goalie. Jones tries going high on him but Ellis jumps up and bats it away. Just like Tim Howard!
Needless to say, Jones went easy on Ellis. He could have put that soccer ball right through Ellis if he had wanted to. But he didn’t want to injure anyone.
Overall, a cool moment for everyone. But of course there will be naysayers out there ripping this as yet another example of how American culture is being perverted by an evil foreign influence.
How dare you violate the sanctity of the great American tradition of the ceremonial first pitch by letting some guy kick a soccer ball! Right Ann Coulter?
