The Cleveland Cavaliers are still pursuing a deal with Ray Allen but just because LeBron James wants to play with Ray Allen doesn’t mean that it’s going to happen. He likely won’t be back with the Miami Heat but he might not travel north to Cleveland either.

According to Sam Amico from Fox Sports Ohio, the Cleveland Cavaliers are still a possibility for Ray Allen but he’s still uncertain that he wants to play in 2014-15

Allen and LeBron have a great bond and a friendship that flourished when they were in Miami together but that doesn’t mean he’s going to hold off on retiring just to play with his buddy in Cleveland.

Still, winning a title in Cleveland and retiring after helping LeBron redeem himself in Cleveland is a hard thing to pass up if you’re watching out for your legacy — but there’s no certainty that Allen is looking out for that at all. It’s safe to say that Allen’s legacy is already secure and safe which means coming back may only harm the historic career he’s already had.

Then again, there’s not a whole lot to lose if you’re Allen and getting paid the veteran minimum at this point in his career is a lucrative idea.
