The Atlanta Hawks are looking to get back to the postseason following an amazing season which saw them not only somehow make the playoffs but nearly knock off the No. 1 seeded Indiana Pacers.

More from Atlanta Hawks

Atlanta may be targeting one of those Pacers players now as Lance Stephenson is a possible target for the Hawks to go after in free agency, along with Detroit Pistons restricted big man Greg Monroe.

According to NBA scribe Chuck Myron, the Hawks could be a destination for Greg Monroe and possibly even Lance Stephenson, although the team’s desire to take on Monroe is significantly higher.

"They definitely want Monroe, and Stephenson remains a possibility, although I don’t think they’re nearly as high on him. That might be a team that submits a claim on Boozer if the Bulls amnesty him, by the way."

The Hawks make sense for a lot of free agents but they dont’ seem willing to be big spenders to land them. For instance, they had a chance to land Luol Deng at $10 million a year but decided to lowball him instead. That’s something that maybe was right for Deng but the Hawks will have to spend on someone if they want to lure a top player remaining to a team that really has no promise of postseaosn glory.
