The Chicago Bulls getting rid of Boozer seems like a certainty at this point as they need his cap figure gone and off the books if they don’t want to be tax payers this upcoming year. They’ve already earmarked most of his salary for Pau Gasol which means he’s already as good as gone.

More from Chicago Bulls

According to NBA scribe Chuck Myron, the Bulls are likely to amnesty Boozer and when they do, don’t count on the Washington Wizards making a run at him, even if they seem like a possible fit for the forward.

"He’s still a fairly productive player and would certainly command more than the minimum salary. The Wizards don’t have the cap space necessary to make a bid, and they probably can’t afford him in free agency now that they’ve committed their mid-level to Paul Pierce."

Washington is an interesting fit for Boozer but they just don’t have the space to add him if they claim him. After that, he’s going to ask for a similar price on the open marker which means he’s going to likely be out of Washington’s price range no matter what.
