Although Paul George seemed to run out of gas towards the latter part of the Indiana Pacers regular season, for the vast majority the swingman was one of the premier players in the league. He was even drawing deserved MVP consideration before his mini-funk took him out of contention.

Still, the forward turned the corner as the playoffs rolled around and looked elite as ever. Now he’s aiming to get even better, a scary thought for NBA opposition as Paul George says he not only wants to play a more physical style of basketball moving forward, but that he also wants to add a post game to his already impressive arsenal of moves.

“I’ve actually been working a lot down in the post,” said George. “I’ve been spending a lot of time there. A lot of it is just working on footwork stuff and a lot of stuff just off the catch.”

George, who also has a personal chef helping him eat correctly this offseason, talked about adding weight.

“Right now it’s making sure I’m eating right,” Paul George said. “I want put weight on the right way. I’ve been doing so slowly, but surely I’ve been gaining a little weight and putting on a little size.”

As you may recall, George was mildly called out by Larry Bird, president of basketball operations after the season concluded and suggested that he wanted to see the All-Star in the post more often.

Apparently George listened and if the addition proved to be successful, it’s just another weapon in cache of an already stocked arsenal.
