While on trial, Hardy entered a not guilty plea.

The judge has ruled otherwise, however, with Hardy being found guilty of both charges.

During the trial, some troubling details were revealed by Hardy’s girlfriend, Nicole Holder.

“When he let go of me, he got on top of me and strangled me,” she said via the Black and Blue Review. “He looked into my eyes and told me he was going to kill me.”

Hardy had previously been accused of throwing Holder onto a bed of guns.

Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer shared some details from the verdict:

Hardy’s defense team has requested an appeal to the Supreme Court. They will get a jury trial.
