The Chicago Bulls put together a great offseason even though they ended up missing out on Carmelo Anthony, who decided to re-sign with the New York Knicks.
But what Chicago did come away with is something that instantly makes them favorites in the East as the additions of Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic will go a long way making the Bulls great this season.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the decision that Pau Gasol arrived at to sign with the Chicago Bulls was reached when he spoke with both Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah in order to get a better grasp on the situation he was walking into.
Recent free agent Pau Gasol says signing for the Bulls over NBA champion San Antonio or Oklahoma City came down to a gut decision.
Gasol says on Tuesday that after speaking with Bulls players Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah, “instinct told me to pick Chicago.”
Chicago landing Gasol has polarized skeptical fans who want to be excited about the signing but can’t help but remember Carlos Boozer, Rip Hamilton and all other signings that looked like they could turn out well but ended up being massive mistakes in the end.
Still, Gasol indeed makes the Bulls even better contenders in the East and as long as he works out and doesn’t fizzle, the Bulls are sitting pretty heading into next season.
