Canelo Alvarez, who is coming off of a controversial win over Erislandy Lara, is already being called out thanks to Demetrius Andrade.

More from Boxing

Andrade is the undefeated WBO light middleweight champion, and he is now looking for a big money fight and there is none bigger in the division than Alvarez.

Outside of the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, Alvarez is arguably boxing’s biggest star.

Andrade (21-0, 14 KOs) dominated Brian Rose in his latest outing and he is now calling out Alvarez (44-1-1), who is expected to return to the ring in November.

“I read some comments that Oscar [De La Hoya, Alvarez’s promoter] made to Lara after the fight that there is a line about 10 people deep to fight Canelo, and Lara would have to get to the back of it,” Andrade said, via ESPN.com. “What Oscar failed to mention is that line forms behind me.

“I am the WBO champion and I am undefeated. As I look down the rankings, I just defeated my mandatory Brian Rose, and Alvarez is ranked No. 2 by the WBO. He will be elevated to No. 1, and I am ready and willing to fight him for my title. I just hope he would be prepared for the beating I will put on him.”

Joshua Clottey is another name that has been thrown around for Andrade which would help him gain some more of the name recognition that he deserves before stepping into the cage against Alvarez in a pay-per-view headliner.

However, if Alvarez was willing to take on Lara, he may be willing to go toe-to-toe with another dangerous opponent who excels with his technical ability.

We will just have to wait and see.
