Kevin Love trade rumors: GM think Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson are worth trading

The Minnesota Timberwolves are still trying to figure out a trade for Kevin Love as they’ve found a pair of teams interested in him but can’t seem to get any traction with trade talks.

Both the Holden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers have expressed interest in trading for Love but neither seem willing to give up what Minnesota wants in the trades. For Cleveland, Andrew Wiggins seems untouchable and the Dubs are close to resorting to squirting the Wolves with a water bottle every time they ask about Klay Thompson.

One Eastern Conference GM is flabergasted at the notion that there is even a question about whether trading for Love is a good idea.

The Wolves trading Love seems to be a foregone conclusion but this general manager brings up a solid point that many are sharing in his confusion. If Love really is the best power forward in the game, or is a top 5 player, then why are the trades being met with so much resistance?

Career potential has insane value in the NBA but the bottom line is that Love’s potential is proven and someone is going to trade for him eventually.

  • Real M-Fing talk !!!

i would love to know who the GM is… chances are he’s the G.M of one of the worst team in the NBA or if he’s the Spurs team i could see giving up on a young talent like Wiggins to win… The Cavs youth is everything to them right now and going forward…., i would not touch bennett or Wiggins, right now Wiggins is a better defender than Love, which takes a lot of pressure off Lebron and Wiggins other skills will improve with playing time… i can see giving up Klay because he doesn’t have the ceiling of a Wiggins. If the Cavs was smart they would fill out the Roster with a Blatche and Charlie V. for size and if Love really wants to be a Cavs you will get him next year… The Cavs have a few 1st round picks and they may want to move Waiter, why not try to get a Cousins? and next year a Love would still be in play more so than before !

I’d give up Thompson in a hearbeat. Wiggins? Probably couldn’t bring myself to do it.

i think the Warriors have waited themselves right out of the possibility of acquiring kevin love. procrastination, and “game playing” with the wolves, have been costly mistakes by the W’s FO. dumb, dumb, dumb!

how are these players, all of them, going to feel about the W’s management? so much for that positive loyalty that they’ve had going on, losing their beloved coach and now two of the three best players on the team being threatened all offseason with trade rumors. that wouldn’t promote a warm feeling of trust, if it was me on the receiving end. what’s to come will surely be interesting, and hopefully not disappointing! go Myers, and go Warriors!
