The Cleveland Cavaliers are apparently trying to do everything in their power to strike a deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves that would bring Kevin Love in to play with LeBron James. Earlier in the day on Thursday, it was reported that they were indeed inclined to part with no. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins to get that done. Well, now it seems that might not be the case.

According to a report from Sam Amico and FOX Sports, while they don’t really mind his name being thrown out there, they really have no interest whatsoever in dealing him, and would like to see him stick with the franchise long term.

Basically, their stance has never changed on the matter, despite the earlier reports.

"They are still very determined to keep Wiggins for a long time, multiple sources told FOX Sports Ohio on Thursday."

This potential deal has drawn both a lot of criticism and a lot of favoritism from fans and media personnel from around the basketball universe.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

On one hand, some see shipping Wiggins to the Timberwolves as a no-brainer. The reason being, we all know how good Love is right now, but we don’t know how good Wiggins will be. It’s considered a given that Love and James would dominate the Eastern Conference together, along with Kyrie Irving, so Wiggins could easily be the odd man out.

However, there are some that feel Wiggins will be everything that he has been advertised to be since high school, and the Cavaliers would be foolish to let the potential of he, LeBron and Irving dominating together go to waste.
