It’s been a rough road for former Washington Wizards forward Chris Singleton who has struggled to make noise in the league after a successful career at Florida State. Part of that has been due to his inability to get off the bench for the Wizards, but there are teams who see promise in the 24-year-old as are said to have interest in signing him.

More from Indiana Pacers

Two teams who’ve reportedly expressed such a desire are the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat. Both franchises lost wing players to free agency and are likely looking to add depth to the position given their losses. Of course, I’m not sure Singleton is the most prime candidate to fill in those positions considering his recent struggles though it’s understandable as to why teams would be willing to take a chance on the former All-ACC defensive team selection.

The Washington Wizards have also been said to have interest in bringing Chris Singleton back though they’re not going to break the bank for him and it’s doubtful the Indiana Pacers nor the Miami Heat feel any different.

Most likely, Chris Singleton will need to accept what essentially works out to a league minimum deal and will have to work his way off the end of the bench with whatever team he signs with.

A relatively woeful offensive player, Singleton can play defense on the wing and is an asset in that regard. Assuming he knows his role he could be a very serviceable bench talent, but when he attempts to channel his inner-Michael Jordan, that’s when things become a problem.

Still, on a cheap deal, he’s worth the risk.
