The Seattle Mariners are going to have a difficult decision to make in the coming days. Do they mortgage their future for a chance at immediate success or do they put hope in their youthful arms and heavy bankroll moving forward?

It’s not an enviable choice but one they’re going to have to make as trade talks with the Tampa Bay Rays centered around David Price continue.

During the past few days rumors have swirled suggesting that the Seattle Mariners may be willing to include Taijuan Walker in a trade for David Price, though that’s going to be required at minimum for the Tampa Bay Rays to consider the deal, this according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Walker would be just one of two or three high level prospects making their way to Tampa Bay in a proposed trade scenario.

"With the Mariners, it was pitcher Taijuan Walker and two or three others, though in that case Seattle might also want versatile star Ben Zobrist in a package deal (or just Zobrist alone)."

With David Price you know what you’re getting in comparison to Walker who is still a question mark, though he has proven to be talented as advertised.

It’s likely such a deal between the two teams will come down to the additional pieces and how costly David Price will be. The Rays have allegedly asked the Dodgers for a trade centered around five-tool prospect Joc Pederson, so needless to say the price tag is pretty high at the current moment.
