He seems to be the early bloomer from the draft class so far as his Summer League performance has been something of a wonder to watch and that has resulted in a contract from the Houston Rockets. According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, the Rockets will be signing Johnson to a three year contract this week.
"A day after the Rockets completed play in the Las Vegas Summer League, the Rockets expected the signing of Johnson to be imminent, a person with knowledge of their talks said. Johnson will sign a three-year deal."
According to Shams Charania, the contract that Johnson will be signing is going to be fully guaranteed.
Johnson has been a stud for the Rockets so far and while his performance may dip as the regular season nears and eventually begins, his stellar Summer League play is proof of just how deep the draft class truly was this season.
