The Sacramento Kings and Detroit Pistons had trade talks about Josh Smith but they apparently didn’t reach a very serious level. That’s what Yahoo! Sports insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Monday but Zach Lowe has conflicting information to pass along.

More from Detroit Pistons

According to Zach Lowe from Grantland, not only were the talks between the Kings and Pistons for Josh Smith serious, but they could be re-kindled at the same time.

"Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo reported on Monday that the Kings-Pistons trade talks had stalled, and that Stan Van Gundy had told Smith to expect to be a Piston when training camps open. But the talks were serious and could revive anytime."

The Kings are a confusing team, as Lowe tried to illustrate in his long winded column where he pointed out just how bad the Kings are and why they’re never going to get better. Adding Smith helps them but it hardly fixes them and that’s the problem with Sacramento at the moment.

At least they won’t be giving up major pieces of their roster to land Smith, but something needs to be done to help this team and so far no relief can been seen anywhere near Sacramento.
