The ink has yet to dry on the trade between the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers that sent Jeremy Lin to Southern California, yet the point guard is already barking orders. Frustrated with his role last season in Space City, Lin stated he wants a bigger role with the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

So what exactly does a ‘bigger role’ entail? Well, more playing time apparently and being one of the focal points on offense as Lin told the Want China Times.

"“I wish my role could become bigger and more important, and I also wish I could get more playing time next year,” said the 25-year-old point guard."

Stuck behind Patrick Beverly in Houston, Jeremy Lin shouldn’t find such a roadblock with the Los Angeles Lakers considering their thin backcourt and Steve Nash’s injury woes. Of course, Lin, who is in the final year of his contract may not be a member of the Los Angeles Lakers very long considering he has already found his name linked to trade rumors for Eric Bledsoe.

It’s doubtful the Lakers acquired Jeremy Lin for the long haul so if they’re able to use him as trade bait, one figures they’ll likely do so.

In all honesty, there probably isn’t a better place for Jeremy Lin right now than the Los Angeles Lakers as he’ll be able to secure a significant amount of playing time and should be able to put up some points as well. That seems to be what he’s desiring, though, he may have wanted to be a little less brass about his desires considering he’s yet to even suit up for the franchise.
