Although all signs have pointed to the contrary, a recent report by NESN and WMTW Channel 8 Portland sports anchor Travis Lee, have stated that a trade that would send Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers is a done deal.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Lee apparently tweeted the news sunday, quoting a “trusted source” in the NBA industry, but giving no timetable to when the trade would be finalized.

If Lee’s source is right, this trade would completely change the complexion of both teams. The thought of Kevin Love playing with LeBron James has got to have NBA GM’s across the nation shaking in their boots.

Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves though, as reports have suggested that the Cavaliers are unwilling to part with No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins, and the Minnesota Timberwolves were not willing to trade Love for anyone else.

The Cavaliers noted that they expect to sign Andrew Wiggins this week. If that is the case, the team would not be able to trade Wiggins for 30 days after he signed.

While the details are certainly fishy, it is still plausible that the trade could happen if the pieces are right. The question becomes whether or not the Cavaliers have changed their stance on the availability of Andrew Wiggins. If so, this trade may come to fruition after all.
