The Chicago White Sox aren’t setting the world on fire at the moment but they may become very relevant this final week in July as they have trade chips that contenders want and that means they’re in line to make some deals happen as August prepares to roll around.

More from Chicago White Sox

Of the chips the White Sox have, one of the names drawing the most interest in pitcher John Danks, who has teams like the Yankees and others interested in his services.

According to Chris Cotillo, the White Sox are getting calls for not only Danks but for Dayan Vicideo as well, meaning we could see some big names leaves the south side of Chicago in the very near future.

Chicago won’t be contending this year but there is hope that a rebuilding process will be quick and easy in the near future. That’s where trading away assets like Danks, Vicideo and even Gordon Beckham can come in handy but only if it immediately helps the team and doens’t hinder their growth.

That’s the question at hand for the White Sox as there’s no doubt some interest in the trade market for players they have, but will they sell at the deadline and invest in the future?
