The Golden State Warriors are likely watching the Cleveland Cavaliers reluctance to trade Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love and are jumping and pointing that they’re not the only ones hesitant to trade big pieces for Love.

More from Boston Celtics

While true, it doesn’t change the fact that the Dubs are no longer near the lead to land Love in a trade and will need to let things play out a little before they hear their name called once again.

According to Chris Sheridan from Sheridan Hoops, the Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors remain in the hunt for a Kevin Love trade but it’s pretty clear from the trade chatter these past few days that neither team is near the lead to land the All-Star forward.

"The Golden State Warriors and Boston Celtics also remain in contention for Love, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity."

There was a time when the Dubs looked like the clear frontrunners to land Love after the draft and the Celtics had a chance before the draft but it appears both teams flew too close to the Sun and trade talks flamed out either due to not enough assets or a fierce attachment to them.
