Despite already having Darren McFadden on the roster, the Raiders plan on getting Jones-Drew involved heavily in the offense.
In fact, the San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Tafur believes that McFadden could end up being the No. 1 running back on the team’s depth chart when they open up the season.
It would be a surprise to a lot of people if McFadden was unseated by Jones-Drew, but anything is possible.

The most likely scenario in Oakland is that both running backs will get their fair share of the carries, but Jones-Drew’s ability to run between the tackles will give him the edge when it comes to getting a bigger bulk of the workload.
We will have to see how the running back battle plays out during training camp, but it seems to be trending in Jones-Drew’s favor.
