The Denver Broncos were embarrassed in the Super Bowl this past February by the Seattle Seahawks, the team with the unquestioned best defense in the league. Well when John Elway saw that, he made a push to improve his own defense that much more, and part of that was the addition of pass-rushing specialist DeMarcus Ware, who wants to see the Broncos take that distinction from the Seahawks.

Ware recently expressed that while he knows that the focus of the team is on the offensive side of the ball and Peyton Manning, he and the other guys on the defensive side of the ball want to make their mark as well, and climb to the top of the ranks.

“We are trying to be a force to be reckoned with this year and you already talked about us being an offensive team, but at the end of the day, we are trying to be [No.] 1 and [No.] 1,” Ware said. “The best offense in the league and the best defense in the league.”

At times last season, not just in the Super Bowl, the Broncos’ defense was shaky, at best. Everyone remembers the college football-like shootout they had with the Dallas Cowboys, right?

Well Ware wants to set out to change all of that, and if anyone can help with that cause, it’s him, being one of the best pass-rushing specialists that this league has ever seen.
