While Chicago remains one of the most fascinating and beautiful cities in the country, there’s also a very dark side to the Windy City. Over the past few years, record murder numbers have plagued the city and surrounding suburbs, sadly involving many youths.

More from Chicago Bulls

Wanting to put an end to the continued violence, members of the Chicago Bulls including Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose decided to put forth a PSA promoting an end to the nonsense.

Conceived by Joakim Noah’s ‘Noah’s Ark’ foundation, the video features both the Chicago Bulls center and the previously mentioned Rose along with local youth asking the city to stand up for peace.

It’s a wonderful gesture by Noah who has become as much of an All-Star off the court as he is on.

Noah’s Ark, which was founded by the former Florida star a few seasons ago aims to keep local youth out of trouble and off the streets by mixing both sports and art together.

"Every child has a unique passion, one that drives, excites and empowers them. Joakim has it – and his mother saw it. Now, together, they want to help children tap into those gifts by encouraging them to discover their true selves through the powerful combination of art and sports. Noah’s Arc Foundation provides diverse opportunities for kids to become more aware and conscious of their ability to make a positive impact on themselves and their community."

Joakim Noah’s certainly not the first to go out his way for his charity, but it’s always a welcome sight no matter who extends a helping hand.
