Kobe Bryant wasn’t the only Los Angeles Lakers player who glowingly endorsed the hiring of now-head coach Byron Scott. The recently-signed Carlos Boozer also spoke well of Scott, citing experience as a key component in the hiring.

From Basketball Insiders:

"“Well if [Scott] is the coach, that’s terrific,” Carlos Boozer told ESPNLA. “Obviously, he was a great player – you know – a ‘Laker Legend’ of course, but also was a good coach in the NBA for a long time and for a couple different teams. He brings great experience, and obviously knows the NBA very, very well. I think that he could add a lot to our team. I’d be interested to have a conversation with him to find out how he views our team and how he wants to utilize all of us.”"

The endorsements bode well for Byron Scott–at least early on. It means the players respect him and are more likely to buy in to whatever system he brings to Los Angeles. Looking at the current build of the Lakers, it’s gonna be hard seeing him be successful (or at least surpass expectations), but if he can get the team to play hard night-in and night-out, Scott will have done the best he can.

According to reports, Scott and the Lakers have agreed to a four-year deal–the fourth year a team option.
