Andre Johnson tweaked hamstring, will likely miss a few practices

Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson decided to report to the Houston Texans training camp earlier this week even though he made it abundantly clear that he was unhappy with the organization over the last several months.

Apparently, a conversation with head coach Bill O’Brien as well as a few members of the front office persuaded Johnson to report to camp on time.

Johnson may wish he sat out for a bit of training camp after tweaking his right hamstring on only the fourth day of practice:

Luckily it seems that the injury is far from severe as Johnson was not laboring coming off the practice field. Even though Johnson could play through it if he needed to, he will likely sit out for a few practices for precautionary reasons:

When the results come back from Johnson’s tweak we will keep you informed, but for now it seems that it is nothing more than a minor speedbump.

If the Texans have any hope of competing next season they will need Johnson in tip top shape. The Texans staff and Johnson himself know it, so sitting out a couple of practices may help the team in the long run.
