John Lackey trade rumors: Boston Red Sox pitcher getting interest from Los Angeles Dodgers
By Dan Zinski
Jon Lester has been the main object of speculation when it comes to the Red Sox, but there’s another pitcher on their staff who has been drawing interest from teams. Ken Rostenthal reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers now have their eye on pitcher John Lackey.

Rosenthal says the Dodgers are looking at every available arm on the trade market, including Lackey’s Boston teammate Lester, plus Phillies starter Cole Hamels and Rays starter David Price.
Though Lackey hasn’t been nearly as dominating at Lester or Price, he has had a nice year at 11-7 with a 3.60 ERA and 1.231 WHIP in 137 IP. Lackey not being an ace-level starter like Lester, the Dodgers would not have to give up as much to get him.
And the Red Sox would not get as much back for him.
The rumors are going to continue to swirl around Lester due to his contract status, but don’t forget about Lackey in this either. Boston has already traded Jake Peavy and are clearly ready to sell off more parts.
The Dodgers on the other hand are clearly looking to make a run at a World Series this year. A Lester or a Lackey or a Price would strengthen an already formidable rotation to the point where you would have to consider them the favorites in the National League.
Oh, and they picked up Darwin Barney. Can you say World Championship?
