Outside of a jersey retirement during a Philadelphia 76ers game, we haven’t seen much of Allen Iverson recently. That’s soon to change, well, assuming you’re in the Philippines as The Answer is expected to make his way to Manila in the near future.

More from NBA

One of the best players to grace an NBA court during the late 1990’s and 2000’s, Allen Iverson was scheduled to appear in the Philippines last year though had to reschedule because of the aforementioned jersey retirement ceremony. Now with a cleaner schedule, A.I. will be heading to Manila where he’ll be introduced as a ‘coach’.

"This development was confirmed by the former NBA MVP’s sports agent in Asia, Sheryl Reyes, who shared the news in an exclusive interview with Rappler on Saturday afternoon, July 26, at Heroes, Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City during the launch of former NBA star Stephon Marbury’s Jersey for a Cause project.According to the sports agent, Iverson will visit in November for his new job – coaching – which she says the Philadelphia 76ers have been grooming him for.“Allen, really, for this particular event, we’re introducing him as a coach.”"

In addition to Allen Iverson, it’s said that former NBA All-Star Steve Francis is also expected to partake in the basketball camps.

Iverson’s ‘coaching’ responsibilities will likely include teaching the game to both young and old. It’s also possible that he may actually hit the court with the Philippines national basketball team, though right now that still appears to be up in the air.
