It looks like we’ve found out one of the teams who were ‘intrigued’ by Michael Beasley’s efficiency and maturation in Miami. According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles, the small forward recently worked out with the Los Angeles Lakers.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Last season, Michael Beasley, returning to the team who originally drafted him in 2008 in the Miami Heat, was seldom used for a variety of reasons. Appearing in 55 games, Beasley averaged a career-low 7.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. While the numbers aren’t boastful, front offices have been drawn to the efficient numbers posted by the small forward. Beasley shot 49 percent from the field, a career-high, 38 percent from three, the second highest percentage in his career, and 77 percent from the charity stripe.

There have been no reports of the Lakers looking to sign Beasley, but last week many connected the dots on a potential deal. Since then, the Lakers have re-signed both Wesley Johnson and Xavier Henry. With Kobe Bryant and Nick Young in the fold, the Lakers may now be capped out at the wing. Beasley brings a scoring touch to LA, but outside of that, he doesn’t do much that the current grouping can’t do.

The Lakers still have roster spots available which leaves the window for Beasley to join the Lakers wide open.
