Addressing the media today, Pat Riley spoke on several key topics: LeBron James, the Eastern Conference, Carmelo Anthony, the state of the Miami Heat, etc. He even took some time to speak on the pending free agency of shooting guard Ray Allen.

More from Cleveland Cavaliers

Despite being on the extreme tail end of his career, Ray Allen has been mentioned frequently in free agency. The options have been simple: re-join the Miami Heat, retire after spending 18 years in the NBA, or join friend in LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Based on several reports, it looks like Allen is leaning toward joining the Cavaliers. In fact, a Cleveland signing would made Allen the third former Miami Heat to join James in Cleveland along with Mike Miller and James Jones.

Wherever Allen ends up, he’ll still be able to provide. Despite being 39 years old, Allen remains to be one of the best shooters in the NBA. Last season, Allen averaged 9.6 points per game while shooting 37 percent from behind the arch.

If Ray Allen chooses to return, the 2014-15 season will likely by his last in the NBA.
