While the Seattle Mariners have well documented interest in trading for Texas Rangers outfielder Alex Rios, they’re not the only club eying the veteran talent. In fact, there are multiple teams looking to acquire the right handed hitter.

More from Cincinnati Reds

One of the better hitters available at the deadline, Alex Rios is currently hitting a very respectable .304 and despite a lack in power (just four home runs), Rios has driven in 43 RBI in a sub-par Texas Rangers lineup.

Given that and his history of being a power/speed combo talent, the San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians and Cincinnati Reds are all said to be showing interest in a trade.

"The Royals, Giants, Mariners and to a lesser degree the Reds and Indians are in on Rangers outfielder Alex Rios, one of the better hitters on the market. The Yankees do not seem to be heavily involved at this point."

It’s been said on multiple occasions that the Texas Rangers are not going to give Alex Rios away and that his price tag is rather elevated. Because of that, it’s not known how serious any of their talks with teams are though despite their high price, the Rangers are reportedly very interested in moving their outfielder.

The Royals, Giants and Mariners are the teams in most need of Alex Rios, which is why they’re likely deemed to have heavy interest while the Reds and Indians could likely suffice without him.

If Rios is moved, it’s likely he’d become a starter no matter what team acquires him.
