David Wilson catches a bird at Giants practice

New York Giants running back David Wilson incurred a neck injury during Tuesday’s practice, and although he tweeted out that he would be fine, doctors disagreed.

Unfortunately for Wilson and the Giants organization, the doctors said that Wilson will “need a miracle” if he’s going to return to the NFL. Obviously that is an extremely tough pill to swallow for the former Virginia Tech superstar, especially after last season’s neck injury that put him on injured reserve and was fixed during a January surgery.

Wilson is taking the bad news in stride, however, as he still joined the Giants team at practice today. Of course, he was not involved in practice whatsoever, but he cheered on his teammates from the sidelines.

In an odd turn of events, Wilson ended up catching something at practice, but not what you would expect. Apparently, Wilson caught a bird this afternoon:

Unfortunately no one at Giants training camp caught a picture of Wilson with the bird, but they did capture it on the sidelines:
