The Los Angeles Lakers had big plans this offseason which included the courting of both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. Of course, as we know neither plan worked out and in the process the Lakers lost some of their own free agents as they attempted to clear money.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

One such player that may have been on the outs was that of Nick Young, who hinted that he wanted to return to the Lakers but understand that they may not be willing to commit to him long term as Los Angeles attempted to keep their cap clean.

However, the Lakers did decide to invest in Nick Young and the Southern California native couldn’t be happier. In fact, it seems as if the former USC product believes he’s second in command on the Lakers this season, hinting that he’s the Robin to Kobe Bryant’s Batman.

Ironically, he might be right. Offensively the Los Angeles Lakers don’t have a ton of fire power and Nick Young is more than happy to put up shots if they’re available. Of course, I’m not sure Kobe Bryant will be thrilled with Young’s sometimes questionable shot selection, but there’s no doubt he’ll have plenty of opportunities to score this season alongside Kobe Bryant.

As for Young’s contract, he’ll have a few years to play alongside Kobe considering he’s signed for four seasons, though he may need a new Batman in the future since it’s unlikely Bryant will still be playing in 2018 (though I wouldn’t rule anything out regarding Kobe).
