For weeks now the Seattle Mariners have been rumored to have interest in trading for Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price. If such a deal was to go down, it was expected that highly touted young pitcher Taijuan Walker would be headed to Tampa Bay in return.

More from MLB Trade Rumors

Talk about a trade between the two clubs had died down but with rumors leaking that Price was on the verge of being traded to an unknown team, Taijuan Walker decided he was going to troll Seattle Mariners fans.

The young pitcher, who is rather active on social media, decided to take to his Twitter timeline and post the following message.

This was of course a half hour after Walker’s previous tweet which seemingly had nothing to do with his most current ‘uggggggh’ tweet. Needless to say, many took Walker’s tweet as a suggestion that he had been traded.

But alas, it was simply Walker having fun with his Seattle Mariners fan base as just moments later, Walker suggested that he should have added he was hungry to the tweet.

Maybe it was Taijuan Walker’s way of breaking the tension considering it was still a very real possibility that he could be traded. Either way, it was pretty amusing to most outside of panic stricken Seattle Mariners fans.

As for Walker, it seems as if he’ll likely be staying put as recently, David Price’s agent stated that the pitcher wouldn’t be interested in signing long term with the Mariners. Understandably, Seattle isn’t going to give up one of their elite prospects for a rental of David Price.

Update: And just like that in the most ironic of fashions, it looks as if Walker was traded….
